Mokume-gane is a Japanese metalworking technique, dating back to the 17th century. It was originally employed to embellish samurai swords. This intricate method involves layering multiple types of metal, one on top of the other, to form a "billet," which is essentially a metal sandwich. This billet is then fused using either a torch or kiln and compressed to create a sheet. Through skilful hammering, stamping, and carving on the sheet's surface, the various metal layers are unveiled, giving rise to a striking metal surface adorned with a myriad of unique patterns and textures.
