Each item invites viewers to look closer to explore the patterns and intricacies, and appreciate these "imperfections" as reminders of transience and the stories they hold.
Patched
In Patched, the jewellery pieces are crafted using a 3D pen and then transformed into metal. This technique allows me to maintain a hands-on approach to my work, which I greatly appreciate. The focus here is on the texture and the metal structure, which resemble the fibres and loose threads of a piece of fabric. This gives the jewellery a distinctive look, akin to something that might be worn, torn, or in need of repair. It's a method I'm particularly fond of because it enables me to continue drawing and creating with my hands, infusing each piece with a personal touch.

Mokume Gane
Mokume Gane is a Japanese metalworking technique, dating back to the 17th century. It was originally employed to embellish samurai swords. This intricate method involves layering multiple types of metal, one on top of the other, to form a "billet," which is essentially a metal sandwich. This billet is then fused using either a torch or kiln and compressed to create a sheet. Through skilful hammering, stamping, and carving on the sheet's surface, the various metal layers are unveiled, giving rise to a striking metal surface adorned with a myriad of unique patterns and textures. The Japanese term "Mokume Gane" translates to "wood grain metal," depicting how metal resembles the patterns found in wood grain.
